About
Do you have what it takes to make AI risk go viral?
That was the question we put to participants at the AI Risk Content Hackathon, a one-day video creation sprint held in London on 6 June. Hosted at the London Initiative for Safe AI (LISA) and sponsored by BlueDot Impact, it brought together people who wanted to speak to the public about AI in a way that engages, informs, and holds attention.
The premise is straightforward. There is a wide gap between what researchers understand about AI and what most people ever hear about it, and more of us than ever now get our news from social media creators rather than traditional outlets. That puts a growing share of public understanding in the hands of whoever knows how to make a short video land. This event set out to put those tools in the hands of people who take the risks seriously.
Over a single day, participants produced around twenty short films: playful, sharp, and sometimes unsettling takes on where AI is heading and the better paths still open to us. They came from across the UK, Norway, Switzerland, Georgia, and Poland, ranging from seasoned creators to first-time filmmakers.
